The theoretical context establishes that financial decision-making at the strategic level in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) requires the understanding of different paradigms. Risk management establishes control over the capital structure, retention rate, growth rate, and capital risk-adjusted performance allowing creation of strategies that can become a competitive advantage. The results indicate that strategic financial risk is identified by determining the capital structure that maximizes the value of companies. The study is longitudinal and covers the period 2009-2013. We utilize data from a survey with the objective to characterize the rates of labor turnover. The results show that job turnover is linked to the dynamism of the economy, whose tendency is directly correlated with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and inversely with unemployment. Sectors with higher turnover rates are represented by the electronics, medical and glass, while the lowest values are observed in mechanics. SUMMER SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM: EVIDENCES FROM MEXICO TITULACION EN LA MODALIDAD DE TESIS EN EL PREGRADO, PROGRAMA DE VERANO CIENTIFICO: EVIDENCIAS DE MEXICO Abstract: The research training of undergraduate students has been done through the formulation of a written thesis and active participation with a researcher through research projects. The aim of the study was to analyze graduation rates of students who participated in a summer science program for the period from 2009 to 2012 and those, whom at end of the evaluation period had chosen, completed and submitted a research paper to finish their certification process by thesis mode at Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco, México. The study design was non-experimental, descriptive, longitudinal and using a text mining technique for collecting and analyzing data. The results indicate that 18% of students who participated in the program graduated from this mode, highlighting engineering. The low index was for the area of medicine and health sciences. But when it happens, organizations feel betrayed. The organization experiences two sensations. Emotionally, the manager is not able to obtain the loyalty of an employee. The cost, talent is difficult to detect and locate and is expensive to replace. This research presents strategies to influence or prevent poaching. Many companies have turned to traditional staff retention programs (design curves career long term, significant investments in training and development, pay more). But competition is intense.
