The Service value added and the 2008 National Competitiveness Models are used to determine the relationship between perceived satisfaction and performance. Tour guides can be considered ambassadors of any tourist destination. They are, perhaps, the individuals with the greatest interaction with visitors. Thus, this study evaluates tour guides’ job satisfaction using non-parametric statistical tests. Specifically, job satisfaction, training, compensation, work environment are analyzed to determine their overall economic impact and to provide insight for future research in this area. Educational level, formal education, marital status, and age are analyzed. Interviews of top female executives were used for this study. The results obtained in this paper suggest that Mexican female executives experienced a positive job relationship. Education is important to female executives’ career development while machismo and other female attitudes are among the most important barrier to promotion. This study is limited to a specific geographic location, and a small sample. Thus, the results may be interpreted with these limitations in mind. The production of orange is one of the most important economic activities in Montemorelos. Over the past decades, this region has experienced a decline in production of oranges. This study seeks to determine which economics and environmental factor have a direct impact on the production of oranges in this region. The results indicates that, even though, local farmers continue to support orange production, plantation aging, technology and global demand of this fruit directly impact orange production. This study offers recommendations to increase the production of oranges and improve the economic development of the region.
